Make a Video, Make a Difference... Get Famous!
Live Healthy Appalachia is sponsoring this digital video contest to showcase the talents and personalities of Athens County's Middle and High-schoolers through videos that promote healthy living, healthy eating, and exercise or sports.
Videos will be posted on our YouTube channel for the world to see and vote on. A panel of local celebrities will pick the critics' choice, number of "likes" on YouTube decide the People's Choice and 4 winners will receive $100 cash prizes.
Contest Rules
1. Videos must include either the spoken or written phrase, "Live Healthy Appalachia." The purpose of this contest is to increase awareness of ways to improve the health and well being of individuals living in Appalachia.
2. The video length must be between 30 seconds to 2 minutes.
3. The video team can be comprised of one or more individuals who live within Athens County.
4. Entries will be judged by panel of local celebrities on content, creativity, originality, and impact. There will also be a People's Choice Award so be sure to have your friends and family vote on the YouTube channel for your video!
5. $100 Cash prizes will be awarded at the Appalachian Health Summit on May 21 for:
- Middle School People's Choice
- High School Critics' Choice
- High School People's Choice
6. Submit the video by email to summit2011@hotmail.com or follow provided directions to upload it as a reply video at youtube.com/user/healthyappalachia by Wednesday, May 4th at 5:00 pm. All submitted videos will be property of the Live Healthy Appalachia. People's Choice award will be close online as of Thursday, May 19 at 5pm.
