Access and education to health resources...

The Community Health committee is dedicated to improving access and education to health resources around Athens County, with a focus on our most vulnerable areas. For information on the committee and how to volunteer, contact dudding@health.athens.oh.us

Past Projects:

  • Family 5k Training
In anticipation of the Sue Apple Memorial 5K Run in May, five families signed on for the training program organized by the Community Health Committee to train with Exercise Physiology students from Ohio University to complete their first 5k race. The free program encouraged families to train together for the race and offered both education and guided practice time in 6 weekly training sessions. Twenty participants started the challenge and trained together with the support of the trainers and each other, many of which competed on May 14th in the Sue Apple Memorial 5K Run!

Community Health on Campus

The community Health on Campus committee is dedicated to projects involving wellness on Ohio University's campus. This committee is student-powered and aims to affect the health culture of the Ohio University community both on and off campus. More information to come!
